City of Kitchener Special EventsArtist: Warren Hoyano Title: Tunneling Heart This exhibition features abstract watercolour paintings in a monochrome or near monochrome palette. This direction is influenced by the strange way that x-ray images, ultrasound images, and photographic negatives portray the world. The artist finds inspiration in insignificant and ephemeral things such as shadows, stains and accidental, everyday marks. He believes that abstract art is not that different from what we encounter in the world around us.

Township of WoolwichImagine spending a relaxing afternoon tasting a tantalizing array of appetizers prepared by teams of the area’s finest chefs and farmers. Foodlink Waterloo Region’s 7th annual local food showcase returns to Riverside Meadows Park in St. Jacobs. Guests will be able to meet and chat with chefs about the art of cooking and with farmers about the food they grow. Each guest will receive a “passport” providing information about the participating farms and restaurants. The event offers an opportunity to learn more about local foods while building relationships amongst farmers, restaurants and consumers. A limited number of passports will be available. Cambridge Sculpture GardenAn outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in Cambridge will feature the work of five artists across a two-year time span. The first installation is artist, Ted Fullerton. This work, Axis Mundi will remain in the garden till fall 2009. Gilgor Stefano will install his his sculpture this summer and three other artist will follow.
