Sport Tourism: Why Waterloo Region?

With sport facilities ranging from RIM Park to our 29 baseball diamonds, Waterloo has become a prime destination for sports tourism in Ontario. Our facilities cater to a variety of sports ranging from BMX biking to golf, with everything in between. We’ve excelled in sport event hosting for years. Explore Waterloo Region can help make connections to many sport stakeholders throughout the region and help navigate through the process. Plus, access the industry’s latest tools and resources and enhance your efforts to get the best results.

Not visiting with a sports team or for a tournament? Come cheer on the Golden Hawks or the Warriors as they triumph in their immaculate playing fields! Apart from the universities, Waterloo is home to over 15 local teams including the Kitchener Rangers and Kitchener Panthers.

Wondering what to do when your team isn’t playing? Head to museums and galleries to check out the latest exhibit, or rent a canoe to paddle the Grand River. Relax in one of our public parks or head to St. Jacobs Village for fresh produce and incredible local shops.
