Kitchen Kuttings in Elmira has been providing specialty comfort foods since 1989 when co-owners Lydia, Nancy, and Elmeda began running their business. Their vision was high-quality products with a focus on an unforgettable customer service experience. The specialty food store offers jams, homemade summer sausage, old fashioned fudge, brittle, and a range of bulk food items. In addition, they rent a number of baking and cooking supplies, such as cake pans, trays, and roasting pans.
DYK: Very fresh cheese curds, when left at room temperature, squeak when you bite into them.
The homemade summer sausage sold at Kitchen Kuttings is an old-fashioned family recipe. It is made using 100% Grade A Ontario Beef and quality Canadian Pork and is smoked with maple and hickory wood. Or, if pepperettes are more your style, choose from regular, double hot, sweet with heat, honey garlic, or turkey for a great snack on the go.
Kitchen Kuttings also supports other local brands and farms by using ingredients such as fresh local Guernsey milk from Eby Manor, Nature Plus omega 3 brown eggs from free-roaming hens, or regular brown eggs from community family farms. Who can forget about the maple syrup? Enjoy locally made maple syrup, produced just a few miles from town. More maple products made nearby are maple butter, maple sugar, maple fudge cones (in season), and homemade maple mustard. Buy local. Buy fresh. And support the farmers – They are our friends and neighbours.
Customized gift baskets, platters, and gift cards are available all year long. You can find Kitchen Kuttings at the St. Jacobs Farmers Market with the full line of Country Kitchen Cupboard preserves, a wide selection of cheeses, and their homemade summer sausage.
