Grand River Brewing (GRB) is committed to producing fresh, craft brewed beers of outstanding quality for discerning beer drinkers. Located in downtown Cambridge along the Grand River, GRB’s home is the former Galt Knife Company building. This historical building dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, and its unique character was maintained throughout the brewery renovation process.
The goal at Grand River Brewing is to produce full flavoured beers that stand out and change people’s perceptions about how beer should taste. Their beers include Beam Me Up, Mill Race Dark, Tailgate Lager and Red Tail Ale, along with seasonal favourites such as Dogstalker April Bock and Highballer Pumpkin Ale (using pumpkins grown in GRB Owner/ President Bob Hanenberg’s own garden!). Their beers have won many awards provincially, nationally and internationally.
Be part of Grand River Brewing’s Beer Club! These monthly meetings are hosted by Bob Hanenberg and Geoff Wiseman, and provide an opportunity for craft beer enthusiasts to learn more about different beers. Each month includes comparative beer tastings along with discussions on different styles of craft brews. Each session is limited to 35 participants, and registration is required.
The hospitality room at the brewery is available for rental. It is licensed for a maximum of 50 people, has a kitchen prep area for caterers, and is equipped with wireless internet for guests. Pricing and availability are available by contacting Grand River Brewing.
The Taproom and Retail Store at GRB are open 7 days a week, with pints and Taster Samples available at the bar.
Brewery tours are also available! Minimum of 10 people are required for a private tour; cost is $10 per person which includes the tour, as well as a tasting of 4 samples.
