Borealis Grille and Bar is a restaurant with locations in Guelph and Kitchener that focuses on sustainability, local food and can host private functions. They offer lunch and dinner menus and feature options such as panko crusted goat cheese, Ontario Fried Chicken, and duck confit. They also offer a gluten-free menu with options such as nachos and hamburgers. Their date night menu is perfect for a night out with a loved one and includes an elk and pork meatloaf and half of a Cornish hen from Chassagne Farms. Kids can look forward to seeing macaroni and cheese, Yu Ranch sliders, and more on the children’s menu. Their draught selection highlights the distance to the brewery that produced the beer. Wine and cocktails are also available, including cocktails made with kombucha, a fermented tea.
With five rooms available between their two locations, Borealis is a great location for hosting events. With capacities ranging from 20 to 100 people seated, they offer group menus for lunch and dinner with a fixed price per person, or can offer customized menus.
Borealis Grille and Bar is part of the Neighbourhood Group of Companies and is a Certified B Corporation, meaning it has passed certain standards for sustainability. These include Ocean Wise, certifying that fish and seafood used are sustainably sourced. In 2016, Borealis Grille and Bar converted both of their restaurants to carbon neutral through the use of solar panels and becoming a certified water-efficient establishment. They use food that is at least 80% locally sourced and are certified as Feast On restaurants. They have also partnered with Me to We in the past to plant over 1,000 trees.
