The Board of Directors of Explore Waterloo Region is very pleased to announce the introduction of a grant program available to events held in Waterloo Region.
The introduction of a municipal accommodation tax in Waterloo Region will generate sufficient funds to provide support for new and existing festivals, events, tournaments, and conferences that drive overnight visitation into the region.
The initial call for applications is October 1, 2019 with a deadline for submission of November 1, 2019 for events taking place after June 1, 2020. There will be a second call for applications in early 2020 and twice a year thereafter.
Applications for funding will be reviewed by a committee of the Board of Directors and funding will be awarded based on predetermined criteria outlined in the Grant Guidelines.
