The UpTown Waterloo BIA runs our Great Oktoberfest Barrel Race every year during Oktoberfest in Waterloo. Teams of four participate in this relay-style keg race to win great prizes from sponsors. All proceeds from the race go to The Sun Life Financial UpTown Waterloo Jazz Festival.
While Canada’s largest Bavarian Festival is taking a different form this year, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is committed to bringing as much of your favourite festival to you through virtual events, small gatherings and some very special contests.
Dubbed the Region’s ‘biggest outdoor dance party,’ Kultrún is a family-friendly celebration of diversity featuring local, national and international world music bands, all-ages interactive activities, workshops by professional artists, performance art, a food, craft and art market and a beer garden.
Looking a little different this year, the event will still host 10+ art installations taking place all outdoors, with physical-distancing measures in place, and masks required for participation. An exciting new addition is the drone light show at 9 p.m. above Waterloo Park.
