Waterloo Region is a perfect destination to enjoy by bike!  With a vast network of urban cycling routes, scenic countryside roads and thrilling mountain bike trails there’s something for every type of cycling enthusiast.  

Cyclists will love that there’s so much to see and do in Waterloo Region throughout the year. Participate in a variety of bike events and competitive races, cycle to a favourite brewery, museum or farmers’ market, enjoy scenic rural landscapes as you tour past tranquil Mennonite farms, take in the fall colours, or simply get out and enjoy the fresh air with your family on a local trail.  Every season brings a new thrill and something else to explore.

Routes

Plan your ride in Waterloo Region.  Waterloo Region’s urban and rural Bike Maps are available in both print and digitally outlining some of the favourite routes and bike accessible landmarks along the way.  With so many rides to choose from, you’ll be sure to come back again and again.

Steaming Nostril, Tour de Grand or the Butter Tart 700!  Just some of the opportunities to get you geared up and your heart racing.  Our community is home to many casual bike events and competitive races that appeal to cyclists of all levels and ages.  Mark your calendar for this year’s cycling events and join the fun.

Mountain Biking

Challenge yourself at one of Ontario’s premier mountain biking destinations – The Hydrocut.  More than 35km of well-designed and interconnected trails will thrill riders of all levels.  The “free to use” Hydrocut trails are open year-round and are a must visit for any seasoned mountain biker.

Besides the Hydrocut, Waterloo Region has many options that will get you off the pavement and exploring nature.
