Anne Williamson

Table Location:
Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
2500 Kossuth Road, Cambridge ON N3H 4R7

Artist Concept Statement:
In these trying times we’ve had to slow down, value what is near and dear to us, and feel fortunate for this wonderful world. I’ve been noticing the butterflies in the garden, and they – and the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory – provided inspiration for my design.

Reason for Participating in Art Fresco Public Art Project:
Anne wants to celebrate the good things in life, and the natural surroundings of Waterloo Region are her inspiration for this project.

Artist Background:
Anne is the past president of the Kitchener-Waterloo Society of Artists, a group of over 125 artists in southwestern Ontario. She is also the treasurer for the Central Ontario Art Association, a like-minded group of over 150 artists across the province. In 2020 Anne was part of a team that launched Local Art for Local Walls (LAFwr.com) – an online art shopping site for local artists. She has a keen interest in both fine and fibre arts. She paints using acrylic and watercolour mediums, and has studied colour theory and printmaking. Anne has exhibited her work in exhibitions and juried shows throughout Ontario and teaches art on cruise ships.
