The Summer Lights Festival will be the first tenant at a new pop-up space in Carl Zehr Square starting this Saturday, June 8.

The space, which was until recently home to Open Sesame, is at 220 King St. W. in front of Kitchener city hall. It will change hands a few times in June before the summer tenant, Four All Ice Cream, takes over on June 21.

Ajoa Mintah, founder of Four All Ice Cream, said in the release she’s excited to be in the space and sees it as an opportunity to collaborate with the city and other local businesses.

City council voted in April to turn the empty storefront into a pop-up shop while it looks for long-term solutions for the space.
