It’s time to start planning for summer! Waterloo Region is a great place to explore, offering first class attractions, internationally acclaimed festivals, and amazing outdoor spaces. To help you with your planning, check out these great ways to #ExploreWR !
When travelling to Waterloo Region, spending time on the beautiful Grand River is a must. Canoeing the Grand gets you out on the water with its canoes, kayaks, river tubes and even paddle boards. Specializing in shuttled trips to various access points along the river, Canoeing the Grand features trips for every age and every ability. Once you’re on the water, take your time and enjoy some fishing, or stop for a picnic along the way: no matter what time you head out, you have the entire day to enjoy on the Grand! Like the song says, “Dip, Dip & Swing Your Paddle”, and enjoy some peace and tranquility on the water, while discovering Waterloo Region from a unique vantage point!
Once you’re back on dry land, check out the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. Featuring 1000’s of butterflies from around the world, tropical plants, waterfalls and other cute little creatures, it’s a great place to explore! During the summer months, get an even closer look at the conservatory inside and out with their Guided Tours. Led by one of the conservatory’s Nature Interpreters, they can give you the inside scoop of the conservatory, walk you through their butterfly and pollinator gardens, and talk about the tropical plants that fill the conservatory. There’s daily drop-in programming for the kids, and new this summer is the Outdoor Butterfly & Bug Hunt Weekend July 20-21, 2019! All of the summer tours and special programming are included in your admission price!
