After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s no wonder most of us begin the New Year looking for ways to slow down and relax.
True North kicks off at Lot42 in Waterloo today! It is an international conference that focuses on critical conversations related to technology and society. Tackling topics such as artificial intelligence, fake news, diversity, and more, True North hopes to explore the good and bad aspects of how technology intersects with human life.
Speakers include Bozoma Saint John – Chief Brand Officer at Uber, Ed Catmull – Co-founder and President of Pixar Animation Studios, Spike Jonze – Writer and Director, Kate Darling – Robot Ethicist from MIT Media Lab, Michael Litt – Co-founder and CEO of Vidyard, and many more.
In addition to the conference, True North will host a one-of-a-kind celebration in Downtown Kitchener, open to both festival attendees and members of the community, on May 3oth at 7 pm in Carl Zehr Square. It will feature performances from The Beaches, Great Canadian Duelling Pianos in the True North Lounge at the Walper Hotel, Night at THEMUSEUM, and more.
