City of Kitchener
Together We’re Bitter Co-operative Brewery is a co-operative micro-brewery located on Mill Street in Kitchener. It serves a number of unique hand crafted beers inspired by flavours found around the world. High quality ingredients are used, and the brews are skillfully created.
Some examples of the various brews available are their flagship full-bodied American style IPA, the “Wobbly Wheel” and “Wit the Hell,” a Belgian witbier. Locally sourced pub style food is available to accompany the drinks.
As a traditional co-operative business, it is owned by its employees and some community supporters, giving it a strong community link. As an example of the local support, a crowdfunding campaign raised the money to fund a fermenter during its construction phase.
The beers are served in an inviting setting with friendly staff. There are musical performers most Sundays between 2 and 4 p.m., and small batch collaborative brews are done on Fridays. A list of upcoming performers can be found on the events calendar page on their website.
Together We’re Bitter Co-operative Brewery is strongly connected to and supportive of the community in Waterloo Region. For example, the Hydrocut is a beer brewed in partnership with the Waterloo Cycle Club’s Trails Committee, with a portion of the profits going to maintaining the mountain bike trails in Waterloo Region.
They are located nearby the downtown Kitchener core and are open from Tuesday to Sunday.
