Live horse racing is a thrilling and unique experience. Check out Grand River Raceway to experience live harness racing in the grandstands or ride behind a horse yourself on August 11th and September 1st. Horse races happen every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening, all summer long!
The fun doesn’t stop there, with Grand River Raceway’s special events, there’s always something to do! The wildly popular and often hilariously fun events include annual Weiner Dog races, an upcoming Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, and a Pull and Truck Show. Monday, August 7th is Industry Day, Grand River Raceway’s marquee event of the race season. It’s staged annually during a special afternoon race card on Civic Holiday Monday. More than 5,000 people flock to the grounds for the two signature races; The Battle of Waterloo and the Battle of the Belles, both purses combined totalling around $230,000.
After a long day on the the track, experience dining with a view at one of Grand River Raceway’s three restaurants – Captain’s Quarters (reservations recommended), Lighthouse Restaurant, and Getaway Restaurant – or try a seasonal BBQ offered throughout the summer on the tarmac. Grand River Raceway is even family-friendly and kids are welcome and there’s lots of interactive things for them to do.
