Wilmot Township is in the heart of the country, and is the living definition of 'small town charm'. Restaurants, shopping and cultural venues are plentiful. But, Wilmot is also proud of our strong connection with our past. Nearly all of our restaurants, retail stores and bed & breakfasts 'live' in historic buildings dating back to the late 1880's. Naturally, each building has its own story to tell, and many have received historic designations. One of Canada's architectural treasures, Castle Kilbride National Historic Site, welcomes visitors from all over the world. A tour through this magnificent 1877 home will have you stepping back in time to formal Victorian Canada.

Wilmot Township is home to many festivals and events that draw more than 20,000 out of town visitors. Whether it is the Ontario Mennonite Quilt Relief Sale (the last Friday & Saturday in May), Canada Day, Moparfest - Canada's largest mopar show (August 16 & 17), annual Fall Fair, Victoria Day or Strawberry Festival (3rd Saturday in June), there is something that will entertain and delight you, anytime you visit.

If you are looking for something different to do, consider spending some leisurely time simply wandering through our many towns. Whether it is New Dundee, St. Agatha, Mannheim, Petersburg, Baden, New Hamburg, Haysville or Phillipsburg - there is lots to discover. Wander through our unique shops, see North America's largest working water wheel, take a quiet nature stroll on our walking trails or have a picnic at the Arboretum. If you're interested in action, bring your clubs and try our three premium golf courses, get back to basics and go camping with your family, canoe the beautiful Nith River. Visit our new state-of-the-art Wilmot Recreation Complex that boasts two NHL size ice pads, community centre and soccer fields. Or just sit back and relax, and take in an entertaining play at one of our community theatres.
