Christmas is a special time to visit Castle Kilbride in Baden. All decked out in lavish Victorian décor and festive attire, every room in this charming 1877 home is decorated for the holidays. The table is set, the trees are trimmed, and the warmth and charm will kindle your holiday spirit.

Check out some of these upcoming festive events this month at the Castle:

Herner’s Victorian Village
A special addition to the Christmas display this year is a large Dicken’s Village display, on loan from the Herner family of Baden. You’ll find it in the Belvedere Gallery (*please note there is no elevator access to this level).

A Merry Victorian Christmas
Thursday, December 7th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
This is your opportunity to see Castle Kilbride in its holiday glitter and glamour at night! The evening includes live entertainment, hot apple cider, an evening tour, and the chance to take home a special Christmas gift when you place a bid on one of the silent auction items!

Old Tyme Christmas Carols with Onion Honey
Friday, December 8th at 7 p.m.
Onion Honey is a local folk music group that plays ‘home-cooked comfort food for the ears’. On December 8th they’ll set the mood for the holidays with their rendition of old time Christmas Carols! Seating is limited for this event, and pre-registration is required. Call 519-634-8444 for tickets.

Homeschool Christmas Drop In
Friday, December 15th from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Learn about the German, Scottish and Victorian traditions that the Livingston family included in their celebrations at Castle Kilbride during the Christmas season. A guided tour is offered at 10:00 a.m. followed by hands on games and a take home craft.  Cost is $4 per person. Call 519-634-8444 or email to register.

Also on until January 7th is Wilmot Township’s celebration of Canada 150 exhibit called To Canada with love from Wilmot. Featuring 150 people, products and events that put Wilmot Township map, the exhibit includes information on Sir Adam Beck to Baden Limburger cheese, and covers things that make Wilmot a great community.

Visit the castle and take in its holiday splendor daily between 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. until December 24. There are additional holiday hours between December 27 – 30 and January 2 – 7 from 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
